Persona and User Flow Workshop

Here's how to do a Figjam UX workshop step by step:

  1. Discuss the agenda (the reason for the meeting).
  2. Explain how to use Figjam, then tell workshop participants they need to type in a name but don't need to register.
  3. Introduce yourself and anyone else in the meeting, then ask the participants to introduce themselves.
  4. Tell the participants the goals of the meeting.
  5. Then start the workshop.
  6. Once all workshop activities are concluded, thank everyone for attending profusely. Then tell them what you're going to do with the information learned in the workshop and what are the next steps. Then awkwardly wave, say goodbye and you're done!

Why am I telling you this now? Because this free Figjam Persona and User Flow Workshop template showcases this process perfectly. It's extremely well structured and follows the steps above exactly.

What this means is that this workshop template is a great template to use to identify user groups (also termed stakeholders, personas) and identify step by step actions they do when interacting with your website of application. Even if you've never hosted a workshop before, this is a great beginner template to use.

The only tweaks we would make would be to not only have 'interests' and 'frustrations' but also add 'roles and responsibilities' and 'opportunities/pain relievers' to the 'Persona creation' section. The 'user flow' section should also be much, much wider as people usually take 6-12 steps to complete an action not 5.
